Get Back to Giving Back
Giving back feels good. Especially when it’s for a cause as worthwhile and rewarding as AARP Foundation Tax-Aide.
We’re looking for volunteers who want to make a difference by directly helping people who can’t afford to pay for professional tax preparation — and often miss out on much-needed tax breaks and refunds as a result.
You don’t have to be a tax pro to volunteer with us. Whether you’re looking to stay sharp during retirement, learn new career skills, or simply share your talents with your community, there are many ways you can help.
Whatever Your Skill Set, You’ve Got What It Takes!
Enjoy the fine print? Be a volunteer tax preparer.
Work with taxpayers directly, helping them fill out tax returns, find credits and deductions they’ve earned, and seek a refund.
Love working with people? Be a facilitator.
Welcome taxpayers, help organize their paperwork, and manage the overall flow of service.
Skilled in digital doings? Be a technology coordinator.
Manage computer equipment, ensure taxpayer data security, and provide technical assistance to volunteers.
Good at getting the word out?
Be a communications coordinator.
Promote AARP Foundation Tax-Aide and recruit volunteers in your community.
Have a knack for leadership? Be an administrative volunteer.
Manage volunteers, make sure program operations run smoothly, and track volunteer assignments and site activities.
Speak a second language? You’re urgently needed!
We need bilingual speakers in all roles, and dedicated interpreters who can assist other volunteers.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is offered in conjunction with the IRS.
Volunteer Policy: AARP Foundation volunteers will receive equal opportunity and treatment throughout recruitment, appointment, training and service. There will be no discrimination based on age, disabilities, gender, race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, economic status or sexual orientation.
