As an AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteer, you can make a big difference in someone’s life – in a short amount of time.

Many older taxpayers with low to moderate income miss out on credits and deductions they’ve earned. Tax-Aide offers free tax-filing help to those who need it most. Since 1968, we’ve helped over 80 million people.

You don’t have to be a tax pro to volunteer with us — there are many ways to get involved. Best of all, giving back with your new friends at Tax-Aide is rewarding and the camaraderie and support makes volunteering fun.

What Is It Like To Volunteer?

We have numerous positions available and training and support will be provided for all roles. Time commitment for training and volunteering vary by role and site, ranging from a few up to 40 hours per week.

There’s A Role For Everyone

We’re looking for individuals to volunteer in a number of roles. In addition to tax counselors, Tax-Aide also needs people who can provide technical and communications assistance, interpreters, and program leaders. All levels and types of experience are welcome.
