Our Newest Initiative: Digital Skills Ready@50+™

AARP Foundation teamed up with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP to offer a training program that gives older adults — especially women and people of color — foundational workplace technology skills.

Made possible through a generous grant from Google.org, the Digital Skills Ready@50+ program provides digital skills training for people over 50 who are living with low income.

Our goal is simple but pressing: Help older adults get the basic technology and digital literacy skills they need to land good jobs that lead to long-term financial stability.

The Digital Skills Ready@50+ curriculum features training courses developed by OATS that focus on building foundational digital skills related to workforce, job search, and entrepreneurship, including:

  • Workplace Essentials (Google Workspace, Chrome Basics)
  • Remote Work Basics (Getting Started/Hosting on Zoom)
  • Job Readiness (LinkedIn Basics)
  • Tools for Aspiring Entrepreneurs (Payment Systems, Social Media)
