Help Us Teach Older Adults Digital Skills to Succeed
AARP Foundation is looking for community partners to help provide older adults digital skills to thrive in today’s work environment
Our Newest Initiative: Digital Skills Ready@50+™
AARP Foundation is teaming up with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP to offer a training program that gives older adults — especially women and people of color — foundational workplace technology skills.
Made possible through a generous grant from Google.org, the Digital Skills Ready@50+ program provides digital skills training for people over 50 who are living with low income.
Our goal is simple but pressing: Help older adults get the basic technology and digital literacy skills they need to land good jobs that lead to long-term financial stability.
The Digital Skills Ready@50+ curriculum features training courses developed by OATS that focus on building foundational digital skills related to workforce, job search, and entrepreneurship, including:
- Workplace Essentials (Google Workspace, Chrome Basics)
- Remote Work Basics (Getting Started/Hosting on Zoom)
- Job Readiness (LinkedIn Basics)
- Tools for Aspiring Entrepreneurs (Payment Systems, Social Media)
The program is focused on eight states, including:
- North Carolina
- South Carolina
If your organization is in one of these locations — and it shares our commitment to supporting older adults with low income in their employment journey — we want to hear from you. Reach out today!
